Ruth Boyd is Cancer Research UK Senior Nurse and a Deputy Director in the NI
Cancer Trials Network (NICTN) based at the Belfast City Hospital.
Ruth works with a team of research staff supporting high quality care for patients participating in cancer research studies across Northern Ireland.
She is the designated Personal and Public Involvement Professional Lead for the NICTN and Belfast Experimental
Cancer Medicine Centre.
She works closely with the members of the NI Cancer Research Consumer Forum (NICRCF), facilitating links between patients/carers and researchers.
Ruth loves her work and is inspired by the positive impact of collaboration and partnership working.

A fully funded 4-year PhD studentship (€18,000 per annum stipend) is available in the research group of Dr. Aideen Ryan.
Education Grant 2020
The Irish Association for Cancer Research supported five Educational Grants in 2020. These were made available to postgraduate PhD researchers who had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
