Prof. Martijn Stuiver

Clinical Epidemiologist, Netherlands Cancer Institute; Professor of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences; Vice Principal master Evidence Based Practice in Healthcare, University of Amsterdam

Martijn Stuiver PhD PT is a clinical epidemiologist with a background in physiotherapy and cancer rehabilitation. He is affiliated to the Netherlands Cancer Institute where he conducts research and implementation projects related to functional recovery from cancer and its treatment. His research focusses mostly on the role of physical activity and exercise. In addition, Martijn Stuiver holds a position as professor of applied sciences (“lector”) at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences faculty of Health, and as vice principal of the master program Evidence Based Practice in Healthcare of the University of Amsterdam. Aside from his research and teaching work, Martijn Stuiver is board member of the Onconet foundation; an organization striving to improve quality and accessibility of physiotherapy services for people with cancer in the Netherlands. Onconet maintains a nationwide network of specially trained physiotherapist.
