She then undertook a four-year Yorkshire Cancer Research funded postdoctoral position in the lab of Professor Pamela Rabbitts at the University of Leeds working on the identification of genetic alterations associated with progression of pre-cancer in head and neck cancer. She was involved in the development of novel next-generation sequencing (NGS) methods for genetic
Currently, she is a Scientific Assistant in Genomics at Ulster University where her research focus is still on novel applications of NGS, particularly in the area of early diagnosis of head and neck and cervical cancer. At Ulster, she is also involved in projects using CRISPR technology for experimental and therapeutic applications and has implemented a key method for whole-genome CRISPR off-target analysis.
